Pay: $22.00 - $30.00/hr., depending on experience
Shift: M – F, 2nd shift

Diesel Mechanic Summary: Perform repairs and maintenance on company equipment to maximize safe and productive operations.

Diesel Mechanic Responsibilities:

  • Routine and preventative maintenance an extensive fleet of roll offs, compressed natural gas vehicles, and diesel garbage truck vehicles.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems on suspensions, brake systems, hydraulic systems, tires and wheels.
  • Perform upgrades.
  • Read and interpret VCRs (vehicle condition reports) and/or repair orders.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualified Candidates For The Diesel Mechanic Position Will Have Met The Following:

  • Required:
    • Equivalent of a high school diploma or GED & 2+ years of related truck or heavy equipment maintenance and repair
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Must furnish own tools & steel toe boots
  • Preferred:
    • Mechanical or trade school certificate
    • Certificate in electronic diagnostics
    • ASE certificate
    • Welding and/or fabrication skills and/or experience


Working Conditions:

Shop, office, yard, vehicle environment, may require lifting of 20 to 50 lbs., at least once a day.
