Diesel Technician Job in Columbus, Ohio

Experienced Diesel Technicians/Mechanics are needed to perform the following maintenance work on a Fleet of Extensive Diesel Engine Trucks and/or Forklifts for our client in Columbus, OH:

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for repairs and required preventive maintenance of trucks and/or forklifts
• Inspects, trouble shoots, diagnoses and performs maintenance on equipment
• Performs safety inspections of equipment and prepares safety documents required by DOT, company and any other Federal, State or Local regulations
• Interprets work orders and technical manuals
• Repairs or replaces defective parts, components or systems
• Tests repaired equipment for proper performance and ensures that the work meets manufacturer’s specifications and legislated regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned by the shop manager
• The Ideal Candidate Will Have The Following Skills/Experience:
• Knowledge of general repairs and PM criteria
• Possession of an acceptable MVR
• Effective Communicator
• Self-starter, organized and possesses strong verbal and written skills

Job Requirements:

• Required:
  • 1 year of experience and/or completion of trade school
  • Must provide a basic set of tools
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must possess a valid clear driver's license.
