- Description:
Experienced Diesel Technicians/Mechanics are needed to perform maintenance work on a Fleet of Alternative Fuel, Diesel and/or Gasoline Refuse Trucks, consisting of mostly preventative maintenance: transmissions, air/hydraulic brakes etc., and other projects assigned by the shop manager.
Responsibilities:
- Performs repairs and maintenance on alternative fuel, diesel and/or gasoline trucks including front-end loader, roll off, and other vehicles to maximize safe and productive operations
- Road tests vehicles to diagnose problems and/or test repairs
- Diagnoses mechanical problems on suspension, brake system, electrical system, hydraulic system, drive train, engine and transmission
- Diagnoses and repairs tires
- Typical repairs include, but are not limited to, maintenance and repair of engines, chassis, driveline, body components, hydraulic systems, brake systems, electrical systems, suspension systems, wheels, and tires.
- Road tests vehicles to diagnose problems and/or test repairs
- Overhauls gas or diesel engines.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the shop manager.
Job Requirements:
- Required:
- Qualified Candidates Will Have One Of The Following: (1) A High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of related truck or heavy equipment maintenance; OR (2) 6 years of related truck or heavy equipment maintenance experience
- A Valid Class A or B CDL is required OR Must be able to obtain a Class A or B CDL
- DOT Qualifications including Brake Maintenance and Inspections, and Annual Vehicle Inspections
- Preferred:
- ASE Certifications
- Welding and/or fabrication skills and/or experience
- Certificate in electronic diagnostics
- Mechanical or Trade School Certificate
