Do I really need a staffing company to find a job in transportation technicians?
More and more employers are using staffing companies as a way to reduce costs, and maintain a safe and compliant fleet. TransTechs works closely with fleet operators across the country to make sure our technicians have access to high-quality job opportunities, personalized career development and a benefits program. Many transportation employment providers would like you to think that all staffing companies are the same. They aren’t. Is a TransTechs job less dependable than traditional employment?
It’s a misconception that staffing jobs are less dependable than direct hires. TransTechs’ job placement process accurately matches our technicians' career goals with the current needs of our clients. We offer a range of career opportunities for technicians at any stage of their career.
Will I receive any benefits as a TransTechs technician?
TransTechs technicians have access to a broad range of benefits. Our technicians have the opportunity to participate in benefits like group medical insurance, life insurance, 401(k) retirement plans and referral bonuses.
When do I get paid?
Employees are paid by TransTechs weekly. Any issues with pay can be directed to the Payroll department at (888) 637-3776.
What happens when my assignment is over?
Once the job is completed, TransTechs will work to locate additional work for you based on your experience, preferences and performance review from the previous employer. Those employees who consistently rate highly in performance reviews will be placed more often.
What happens if I forget to turn in my time card on time?
In the event that you forget to turn your time card in, you will need to contact the TransTechs HR department. We will facilitate a conversation with the client that will ensure that you will receive your pay and the client is billed for the appropirate amount of hours.
How long is the waiting period before I am covered by the benefits/insurance?
30 days from the initial start date is when you would be eligible for coverage. TransTechs places a great deal of importance on the health and well being of our employees and wants to make sure they feel secure in the positions they take.
If I need to miss days of work because of illness or other emergency or want to request specific days off in the future who do I contact?
If you fall ill or need to request time off, you will need to contact the TransTechs Recruiting department IMMEDIATELY at (888) 637-3776. They will be able to alert the client of your abscence or work to schedule alternate arrangements.
Do I get paid for sick time?
Unfortunately no, you will not be paid for days called in sick.
