Experienced Diesel Technicians/Mechanics are needed to perform the following maintenance work on a Fleet of Extensive Diesel Engine Trucks and/or Forklifts for our client in Columbus, OH:
Responsible for repairs and required preventive maintenance of trucks and/or forklifts
Inspects, trouble shoots, diagnoses and performs maintenance on equipment
Performs safety inspections of equipment and prepares safety documents required by DOT, company and any other Federal, State or Local regulations
Interprets work orders and technical manuals
Repairs or replaces defective parts, components or systems
Tests repaired equipment for proper performance and ensures that the work meets manufacturer’s specifications and legislated regulations
Perform other duties as assigned by the shop manager
The Ideal Candidate Will Have The Following Skills/Experience:
Knowledge of general repairs and PM criteria
Possession of an acceptable MVR
Effective Communicator
Self-starter, organized and possesses strong verbal and written skills

- Requirements:
- 1 year of experience and/or completion of trade school is required; Must provide a basic set of tools; High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required; Must be 18 years of age or older; Must possess a valid clear driver's license.

- Diesel Technician/Mechanic Position Job Description:
- Perform Preventative Maintenance on Diesel Engine School Buses.
- Conduct fuel and electrical diagnostics with limited supervision.
- Complete most repairs and parts replacements.
- Accurately complete written record of work performed.
- Communicate with Drivers regarding “Vehicle Condition Reports" and make appropriate repairs.
- Maintain a clean work and shop area as directed.
- Other duties may be assigned.

- Requirements:
- 3 years of school bus maintenance experience OR 3 years of heavy duty truck experience is required; Must Provide Own Tools; Steel Toe Boots; A valid Class B CDL with air brake/ passenger endorsement preferred; ASE Certification preferred; Technical School Degree preferred; Must provide a basic set of tools; Steel toe boots are required; Must Have High School Diploma or GED; Must Be Able To Pass Pre Employment Compliance DMV / Crim check; CDL - Preferred (B air brake / with passenger endorsement); ASE Certification Preferred; Tech School Degree - Preferred .
