- 2 years of related truck or heavy equipment maintenance experience; A Valid Class A or B CDL is required; DOT Qualifications including brake maintenance and inspections, and annual vehicle inspections are preferred; Mechanic or Trade School Certificates are preferred; Certificate in Electronic Diagnostics is preferred; ASE Certifications are preferred; Welding or Fabrication and/or experience is preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

An Experienced Journeyman Level Diesel Technician/Mechanic is needed to perform the following maintenance work on a Fleet of Extensive Diesel Engine Medium to Heavy Duty Trucks and Trailers for our client in Roseville, MI:
The chosen candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing medium to heavy-duty trucks and trailers under minimal supervision.
Repairs will include Preventative Maintenance inspections and repairs, air and hydraulic brake repairs, tire repairs, warranty procedures, driveline, steering & suspension, electrical trouble-shooting and AC.
Other duties may be assigned by the shop manager.
The Ideal Candidate Will Be Able To:
Read codes and instructions on the computer
Document repairs on the computer

- 3 years of experience OR Proven Medium to heavy duty vehicle repair is required; A CDL is preferred OR Must have the ability to obtain one; Must possess a set of hand tools up to 3/4"; Must be 18 years of age or older; Must possess a valid clear driver's license; High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Technician/Mechanic Position Job Description- Diagnoses mechanical problems.
- Performs repairs and maintenance on electric, diesel and gasoline trucks including front-end loader, roll off, and other vehicles to maximize safe and productive operations. Typical repairs include, but are not limited to, routine maintenance and repair of engines, chassis, driveline, body components, hydraulic systems, brake systems, electrical systems, suspension systems, wheels, and tires.
- Road tests vehicles to diagnose problems and/or test repairs.
- Overhauls gas or diesel engines.
- Examines protective guards and specified safety devices on trucks, and makes adjustments.
- Reads and interprets VCRs (vehicle condition reports) and/or repair orders, communicates with supervisor and/or driver for clarification of problems and preventive techniques to minimize future repairs.
- Completes paperwork associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for applied times (work order times versus time card times).
- Makes emergency road calls to repair trucks.
- Mechanics with welding skills will fabricate special shields, attachments, or other devices according to blueprints or schematic drawings.
- Follows all safety policies and procedures.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
