        An Experienced Diesel Technician/Mechanic is needed to perform mechanical duties on light to heavy duty trucks, air compressors, generators, agricultural, construction, and industrial equipment. Duties include repairs, inspections, diagnosis/troubleshooting, preventative/general maintenance, and any other task assigned by the shop manager for our client in Meriden, CT.

        Diesel Technician/Mechanic Position Job Description:

        • Perform mechanical duties in the repair, inspection, diagnosis and preventative & general maintenance of air and hydraulic brakes repairs, driveline, transmission, steering and suspension, electrical troubleshooting, AC, oil changes, fabricate hoses, welding, computer diagnosis. 
        • Assist in the fabrication of parts or special tools if needed.
        • Prepare necessary records pertaining to work performed. 
        • Assist in maintaining inventory of equipment, supplies, and materials.
        • Perform troubleshooting techniques on various systems of the equipment described, by way of special tools or equipment, such as pc diagnosis, scan tool, etc.
        • Provide technical guidance or support to peers if needed.  And possess an ability to take instructions.
        • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
        • Perform mobile customer job site repairs on a limited basis if required.

        Diesel Technician/Mechanic Position Primary Duties:

      • Requirements:
      • 5 years of mechanic experience is required; A valid CDL is preferred, but not required; Must pass Non-DOT drug test; Must possess a valid clear driver's license.

      • An Experienced Diesel Technician/Mechanic is needed to perform maintenance work on a Fleet of Extensive Diesel Engine School Buses, consisting of mostly preventative maintenance: transmissions, air/hydraulic brakes etc., and other projects assigned by the shop manager.

        Major Responsibilities:

        Diagnoses malfunctions and performs vehicle repairs (e.g. adjust/test steering, electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking systems, drive trains, suspensions, power steering units, clutches, transmissions and oil, temperature, gas regulating components, adjust/test/rebuild engines etc.) and related assigned duties within qualification level, in accordance with all relevant Federal, State/Provincial and local guidelines and requirements.

        Test-drives vehicles to ensure repair resolved the problem.

      • Requirements:
      • 2 years of automotive or truck experience with technical repair hands-on and/or classroom training is required; Knowledge of and experience using information technology and related software to access technical information and enter data is required; Experience in the repair, maintenance and diagnostics of light / medium duty trucks / buses preferred; Must provide a basic set of tools; Must be 21 years of age or older.
